A MAN from Aberdare has been handed a community order with an unpaid work requirement for perpetrating an assault in Tenby during August.

Appearing before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on September 2, Michael Rees, of Trecynon, pleaded guilty to an assault that took place at Tenby on August 16. He further admitted to being drunk and disorderly on South Parade the same day.

Taking into account the guilty pleas, the court imposed a community order on the 35-year-old for the assault, with no separate penalty for being drunk and disorderly. Supervised by Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court; the order includes an 80 hours unpaid work requirement to be completed within 12 months.

Compensation was set at £50.00; costs £85; surcharge £114.
