A HAVERFORDWEST man was not disqualified from driving after pleading guilty to driving without insurance, owing to mitigating circumstances.

The Wolfscastle resident appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on June 19, where court heard how a driving ban would have caused him to lose his job, also resulting in the loss of accommodation in which his family and young son live. It would have caused disruption to his child's education as he could not be driven to school, and would have caused issues in getting to appointments for his partner who has cancer.

The 28-year-old was fined £438, plus a victim services surcharge of £172 and costs of £90. Six penalty points were added to his driving record.
