Councillors in Tenby have stated the importance of protecting local play areas and car parks, when the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority revises its Local Development Plan.

As part of the evidence gathering for the revised LDP, the authority is inviting people to submit details of sites they wish to be considered for inclusion as sites for development or protection.

All sites will be entered onto a ‘Candidate Sites Register’, which will be published alongside the Preferred Strategy of the Replacement LDP which is scheduled for April/May 2017.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mike Evans suggested that it would be worthwhile nominating sites such as play areas and car parks in the town to be added to the plan.

“If the clerk draws up a list of community asset sites, then we can apply for them to be protected in the future,” he told his colleagues.
