Work on a new roof for Narberth's Scout and Guide Hall can now commence thanks to a donation from the town council.

Members pledged £500 to the Guide and Scout Hut committee for their refurbishment scheme when they met on Tuesday evening.

Fund-raising and grant assistance had resulted in all but £500 being collected for the first stage of the project.

So when discussing making their annual donations, members agreed to donate the sum needed for the work to commence as soon as possible.

In addition to the donations made to local groups and organisations in their precept, it was decided to donate £100 each to the town's horticultural show and senior citizens committee and £50 to Ysgol Dyffryn Taf.
