TENBY and District Camera Club held its first Smart Phone Digital Competition on April 23, with Melanie Felton winning Gold for ‘Higher and Higher’.

There were an impressive 59 images submitted with judge Johnnie Rogers tasked with scoring and critiquing the wide range of images. The Competition was held via Zoom with the audience in St Florence Hall and the judge at home in Newport .

Other results were as follows: Silver Gillian Mackay (Birds Eye View); Bronze John Slater (Saint Malo, France); Highly Commended Sara Josey (Common Carder Bee), Al Rees (Born beside the Sea), Gill Mackay (David Lewis), Sara Josey (Painted Lady Feeding), John Powell (Take me to Church), Rob Cox (Through the Round Tunnel), Jan Sullivan (Abandoned in the Dawn Mist); Commended John Powell (Into the Light), Dave Bolton (Elephants on the Move), Dave Lewis (Cloister Arch), Jayne Crocker (Pensive), Cheryl Hewitt (Boat on the Estuary), Al Rees (Beneath the Mackerel Sky), Roy Peters (Hellebores Orientalis).

Tenby also enjoyed excellent success in the Brian Jennings Competition, hosted by Trostre and Velindre Camera Club. There were five clubs competing, each entering six prints. Tenby gained first place with Rob Cox’s ‘Orange Snout Fly’ gaining full marks.
