A DAY of Star Wars fun and adventure was enjoyed at Pembroke Dock on Bank Holiday Monday.
The town’s third Falcon Fun Day was another great success with supporters coming from far and wide, the rain holding off until later in the day.
The annual event took place at the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre, which houses a permanent exhibition detailing the construction of the Millennium Falcon in the town.
“We are grateful for the outstanding support of the ‘Star Wars’ costumers and members of the Welsh Squad of the UK Garrison, 501st Legion,” said John Evans on behalf of Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.
“The incredible appearance of Darth Vader, Stormtroopers and a host of other iconic ‘Star Wars’ characters brought the magic of the galaxy far, far away right into Pembroke Dock. And with Lightsaber lessons, games and photocalls, they helped transform the day into something unforgettable for visitors - young and old alike!

“One of many highlights was the first appearance of an incredible Steampunk R2-D2 droid, created and operated by Steve Fearn of Aberystwyth.

“As always our Heritage Centre Volunteers turned out in great numbers to take on so many roles and the enthusiastic cadets and staff of E Squadron, Army Cadets, provided key support throughout the day. All of them are thanked for their contributions.

“And each year we are ever so grateful to Mark Williams who co-ordinates the ‘Star Wars’ teams, this year from as far afield as Cheltenham and all over South Wales.”
Mayor Cllr Michele Wiggins added: “It was a fantastic event and thank you so much to everyone that took part and helped.
“The Millennium falcon was built in Pembroke Dock. It’s the third year it’s been held now and is an annual event. I really enjoyed it and it was really well supported.”
