The Walk the Path for Wellbeing event – postponed last month due to severe weather – will now take place on Friday 17 October, with community groups and individuals from across Pembrokeshire set to cover the entire 186-mile Coast Path in a single day.
Walk the Path for Wellbeing is a celebration of Pembrokeshire’s coast, communities, and the simple power of moving together through nature.
Organisations, schools, charities and community groups are invited to select their own sections of the Coast Path or choose alternative routes within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Open to participants of all abilities, the challenge encourages movement in whatever form suits best, with an option to fundraise for charity or simply enjoy the adventure. While many will walk, others will take part by cycling, paddling, using mobility aids or joining virtually, with routes adapted to meet individual needs.
PCNPA Health and Wellbeing Officer Angela Robinson said: “Nature doesn’t always follow our plans, but the spirit behind this event remains as strong as ever. This challenge is about more than covering miles – it’s about connection, creativity, and shared experience. The response so far has been inspiring, and we’re excited to see so many people coming together for the rescheduled date.”
Those who signed up during the initial call-out may use the same routes allocated previously. New participants are invited to contact [email protected] for further details and guidance.
Participants are encouraged to capture and share their experience by posting photos and videos on social media using #WalkThePathForWellbeing and tagging @PembsCoast.
Everyone taking part in the event is advised to have a Plan B, as some sections of the Coast Path can be tough to navigate, even in bright sunshine. In the event of severe weather warnings on the day, the challenge will be postponed to 2026.
