If you love camping, navigating, fieldcraft and obstacle courses and are aged between 13 and 18, join Milford Haven Royal Marines Cadets detachment at the Sea Cadets for the time of your life.
Experience the great outdoors with no mod cons when you camp out with your map and compass, cook your super ration pack meal over a fire and then get your troop back to base. Whatever you choose, there is a world of exciting challenges at the Milford Haven Royal Marines Cadets detachment.
The unit’s Detachment Commander Sgt (SCC) Glenn Hewer, said: “We welcome all young people living in Pembrokeshire to pop in to the unit when we’re open and find out about getting stuck into some exciting activities like navigation, boating and fieldcraft. We’ve only just returned from Easter Camp which saw Detachments meeting up from all over the west and south of the UK to conduct a fun and action-packed weekend out under the stars.”

Newly appointed Commanding Officer Sub Lieutenant (SCC) Lloyd Jones RNR said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know other young people in the area and you’ll make some great friends, learn new skills that will give you a great head start in life and will really boost your confidence.”
Milford Haven Royal Marine Cadets is part of the national charity Sea Cadets, which gives young people a new perspective, broadening horizons and create possibilities. Working across the UK with 14,000 young people between 9 and 18, they help them see the world with confidence, gained through the challenge of nautical adventure and a Royal Navy ethos. The aim is to help more young people to see the future that they want – and make that future happen.
Milford Haven Sea Cadets opened in May 1963 with a small facility offering a range of opportunities from seamanship and catering; to water-based activities like sailing and boating. Today with the support of local businesses, the Milford Haven Town Council and many kind donations, facilities have improved to be able to sleep up to 70 cadets and offer huge number of activities from Paddleboarding, Kayaking, Power boating to First Aid, Wellness, DofE, Fieldcraft, Shooting competitions and more.
It has supported - and continues to support - hundreds of young people in Pembrokeshire to learn new skills with confidence, with over 60 Sea cadets currently attending, supported by over 25 volunteers. However, more are always welcome and needed.
The unit is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 9pm, and meets at Milford Haven Sea Cadets, Unit A, Haven’s Head Business Park, Milford Haven.
