A FUNERAL service to remember much-missed Pembroke Dock Town Councillor Mrs Pamela George, who was Mayor of the town a total of nine times, will take place at St John’s Church, Pembroke on Tuesday, March 3.

Reacting to the news of Pam’s passing, aged 80, on February 2, Pembroke Dock Town Council set up a Book of Condolence for anyone to share their memories.

The town council also commented: “It’s with great sadness to hear of the passing of the wonderful Councillor Pamela George, our longest serving Town Councillor for Pembroke Dock. Pam was very passionate in her role as Councillor and Mayor and she will be sorely missed.”

Mayor, Cllr Michele Wiggins added: “Her positivity, commitment and loyalty to Pembroke Dock has been like no other. She was a real champion for our town.”

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 3 at St John’s Church, Pembroke Dock at 2pm.

More details are revealed in a notice published by Funeral Directors E C Thomas that reads as follows:

‘The death occurred peacefully on Monday 2nd February 2026 at Morriston Hospital of Mrs. Pamela Ethel George, affectionately known as ‘Pam’ aged 80 from Pembroke Dock.

‘Beloved wife of the late Raymond.

‘Loving Mum of Paul, Jonathan, Alison and Helen.

‘Dearly loved mother-in-law to Adele, Tracy, Jon and Aled.

‘Cherished Nan to all her grandchildren and partners.

‘Treasured Great ‘Nanny Pam’.

‘Former Mayor of Pembroke Dock.

‘Pam will be greatly missed by family and many friends within the community, her laughter and warm presence will be missed by all.

‘The funeral service will take place on Tuesday 3rd March at St. John’s Church, Pembroke Dock at 2:00pm followed by interment at Llanion Cemetery.

‘Following the funeral service the cortege will leave St. John’s Church at 3:00pm and proceed via Lewis Street, Dimond Street, Meyrick Street, Bush Street, Laws Street.

‘It was Pam’s request that pastel colours are to be worn at her funeral.
