Recently, the Friends of Saundersfoot School (FOSS) held a hugely successful Christmas fete.
Father Christmas had a wonderful shiny and glittery grotto to spend time with all of the children which was designed and built by the staff and parents ready for his arrival at 3.30 pm.
Mrs. Morris took wonderful photographs of the children who visited Father Christmas and they went away with some lovely treats.
There were lots of stalls spread around the school which included a toy stall, cake stall, jewellery stall, craft stalls and the school enterprise club ran a very successful stall selling items they have made through the year and some very special Christmas shopping bags.
There was a find the snowman competition, lots of raffle prizes and games around the school to win fabulous prizes such as a television and a Wii.
Refreshments were provided which included mulled wine, hot dogs and the chocolate fountain proved to be very popular.
For the first time this year, FOSS introduced a present room which only the children were allowed to enter and in that room the children could chose presents for their relatives or friends.
In these present rooms, they were then assisted by the school staff to wrap and label their presents ready to be given on Christmas day.
The present rooms were a huge success and overall FOSS raised £2,000 on the night for future school projects.
If you would like to be involved with FOSS or have any ideas for fundraising events, then please contact the school.
Finally, FOSS and the school would like to say a very big thank you to all of you who helped on the night and a special thank you to all of the local businesses and individuals who contributed their time or raffle prizes and your support to the school is very much appreciated.
Well done to the new FOSS committee Miss Lindsay Lewis (chairperson), Mrs. Kate Preston (secretary) and Mrs. Joanne Gove (treasurer) - you did a wonderful job.
