At the start of 2020, the Rotary Clubs of Saundersfoot and Tenby had planned 20 training sessions throughout the year for their disabled sports group Tenderfoot, together with taking two teams to the Welsh Disabled Sports Team Championship.

Due to the Covid pandemic, however, no training sessions have taken place since February.

At the end of each year, both Rotary Clubs host a Christmas Party for all competitors: this was also unable to take place this year.

Christmas is a time for families and as such, Tenderfoot is part of our Rotary family.  Both clubs decided to provide hampers to all competitors, which were delivered last week around the county by team managers Rotarian Charles Hopkinson and Rotarian Jim Ball.

Jim stated: “It was good to catch up with all team members after such a long period: each and every one of them is committed to returning to continue the success achieved by the teams in recent years.”

The Rotary Clubs are currently sourcing protective equipment and screens to enable them to resume training for the Tenderfoot teams as soon as is practicable in the New Year, subject, of course, to Government regulations and guidelines.
