A team of charity cyclists travelling 216 miles to Tenby to raise awareness and funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action in memory of Paul Manning, hit both their destination and fundraising target on the final day of the trip.
The ‘Sip2Tenby’ challenge team - was led by Stuart Manning as a tribute to his father Paul who lost his very short battle with pancreatic cancer in February of this year.
Paul and his wife Barbara moved down to the Tenby area in recent years from Manchester, setting up home in Carew.
Stuart led the three-day cycling challenge along with his good friends from The Secret Sip in Royton on Sunday, June 3, and arrived in Tenby harbour on the following Tuesday.
The team have raised a total of £2,633.28 so far, topping their target of £2,500.
“Not only did we all get to the finish at Tenby harbour, but we also hit our fundraising target on the final day,” said Stuart.
“The last day was just as gruelling as the rest, with an added crash at high speed, slowing us down a little! But we all made it to the finish on our bikes and in one piece.
“A fantastic group of lads both on bikes and driving. Everyone’s togetherness got us all through the challenge, which we all agree is the hardest thing we have ever done,” he continued, with mum Barbara adding: “The lads did extremely well, and would like to give a big thank you to everyone who has supported and donated, especially Paul and Steve who supported the lads on the road.
“The Manning family would also like to give a big thank you to the challenge team and everyone who donated too.”
