Riders taking part in the annual Carten charity cycle ride from Cardiff to Tenby will be welcomed back into the resort next month.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that a road closure would be in place covering High Street and Tudor Square, from 1 to 8 pm, on Saturday, May 6, when the event, now in it’s 12th year, takes place.

The event, which has gone from just four riders in 2004 to over a whopping 1,000 enjoying the challenge of riding the 100 miles from the Welsh capital to Tenby, benefits chosen charities and worthwhile local causes.
