Among matters considered and discussed at last month’s meeting of Carew Community Council held at the Memorial Hall were the following:

MATTERS ARISING FROM?THE?MINIUTES

Communication from Head of Infrastructure on double yellow lines on both sides of the road on the U6350 at Carew Roundabout. The double yellow lines would be on both sides of the road to prevent parking near the roundabout and would apply to both the carriageway and adjacent highway land. Following discussion, councillors agreed with this proposed change and there were no objections.

Acknowledgement of receipt of request for Precept from PCC.

Defibrillator and cabinet for Redberth. Training dates for the defibrillator were discussed. Thursday, March 14, at 6 pm, in Carew Memorial Hall meetings room was agreed. The chair confirmed that the heated cabinet had arrived.

Purchase of laptop for community council work. Councillors discussed this purchase.

PLANNING

Conversion of outbuildings into annexes and extension to the dwelling at Summerton Style, Carew Cheriton. Councillors noted that this application had been refused by PCC.

Installation of foul water sewage pumps and connection to main adopted highway sewer - Carew Castle. Councillors noted that this application had been approved by PCNPA.

Consultation before applying for planning permission notice under Article 2D of the Town and Country Planning Order 2012. Received from Sealand (Pembroke) Ltd for erection of 16 new-build houses at Sageston Fields - Phase 2. Following discussion, councillors agreed to await the formal planning application consultation from Pembrokeshire County Council and then offer up comments at that point.

Citizens Advice Impact Report; Community Link; Community Health Network - update on Tenby Surgery and Walk in Surgery; Play Wales bulletin; Older People’s Commissioner for Wales Newsletter; Community Link report from Dyfed Powys Police and Crime Commissioner; Simon Hart MP Newsletter; Fee Scheme 2019/20 from Auditor General for Wales; One Voice Wales letter on advantages of membership of OVW.

These articles were reviewed and their contents noted.

PARISH MATTERS

A recent potential pollution incident along the road to Llandigwynett at the river was reported to Natural Resources Wales .

Hays Lane parking. It was agreed to contact Streetcare at PCC and to look at the original plans for parking of cars at this development. Parking along the detrunked road on the pavement was again noted.

School governor representative reported that at a recent governors meeting, the school agreed to contact PCC direct on the speed ramps outside the school.

Further discussion on the flashing ‘Queues Likely’ sign near Poyeston Farm.

Cars for sale on Carew roundabout. This problem may be partly alleviated by the proposed provision of yellow lines off the roundabout.

¦ Wall opposite Carew Inn. It was agreed to contact Carew Castle Estates regarding this as it is in a dangerous condition.

Report on the recent Older Peoples Meeting in Archives at Haverfordwest - Care and Wellbeing in the Community . A number of projects and initiatives were ecurrently being considered by PAVS, such as establishing volunteers and paid help for those requiring care from the local community - Community Catalyst project in Pembrokeshire

Radford Point overflow pipe and the Old Quarry. It was agreed to seek technical advice on this from Dwr Cymru as there was some confusion.

It was noted that the new Royal Mail sorting office in Narberth had been officially opened and replaced older premises in Tenby, Narberth and Whitland.

The chairman thanked all for their attendance and declared the meeting closed.
