AS we enter the back end of September, no doubt boredom is setting in, our bellies are touching the desk a little earlier than in the summer months and the scales are getting a bit dusty!
Never fear… The Captain is here!
November will see the climax of this year’s fantastic fundraising journey for Medullary Thyroid Cancer Wales by local businessman and triathlete Matthew Evans and he wants you to be part of it.
Matt, who successfully completed the Marathon des Sables and Ironman Wales in aid of the charity, explained: “Essentially, the November challenge is all about getting outside and going for a run wherever you are in the world! Set yourself a goal of how many days in a row you think you can run for and add a mile a day! Simple.”
He continued: “Some are targeting seven days, some 10 and we have had a few trying the full 30 days !
“I am managing to get around to some schools, too, to get as many involved from four - 18, allowing the little ones to do it on bikes! Bella (seven) is targeting three miles, so that’s my run partner sorted for the first three days! I’m happy to go and talk to local schools about it too!”
And Matt added: “On November 28, you are invited to come along and join in the final day; and what a family party it will be. It’s also my birthday weekend so managed to squeeze that in!
“So please get on over to www.novemberchallenge.com today. Sign up, follow on Facebook and let the build-up begin!”
