Calls for action at a dangerous road junction in Narberth have been made this week.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, former Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees, said: “There’s going to be a God almighty smash there unless something is done.”
Clr. Mrs. Rees was concerned that traffic coming into the town from the A40 was travelling too fast along the A478 and motorists using the junction to turn right into Kiln Park Road were ‘taking their life in their hands.’
“It is horrendous,” she said. “People drive into Narberth like bats out of hell and you can’t see them coming around that bend.”
“Traffic coming into town is travelling ridiculously fast.”
Clr. Mrs. Rees suggested moving a redundant 30 mph sign further out to warn motorists of the reduction from the 50 mph restriction.
“It is a very bad corner,” added Clr. Mrs. Rees, “but the sign is totally useless where it is positioned immediately after a speed hump.”
