Business owners, local residents, visitors and town councillors are among a number of people being invited to share their views on how to bring their high street alive in a series of consultation days to be held in towns across Carmarthenshire.
The consultation undertaken by Carmarthenshire based market research company Perspectif, has been commissioned as part of the LEADER programme administered by Carmarthenshire County Council on behalf of the Carmarthenshire Local Action Group (LAG). The group responsible for rural regeneration has identified pop-up shops as a phenomenon full of potential opportunities for retail, arts and community initiatives.
Pop-up shops are being heralded as one of the answers to filling empty shops, at least for part of the year. Because they offer something different, town and city centre locations have found them particularly beneficial in attracting new visitors.
