Sir,

I read the article which appeared in the Tenby Observer on February 21 about the medals of Lieut-Col William Marychurch Morgan who earned the Albert Medal and Military Cross in the Great War, serving in India after the war. It may interest Tenby Observer readers that Morgan died on October 23, 1944, near Tenby, and is buried in the Jeffreyston Churchyard.

At least his death date is known. In the article, The Search for Shark Attack Hero William David McKay - Awarded the Albert Medal, on the Family Tree website, there is a list of 60 holders of the Albert Medal whose death dates are unknown. If still alive in 1971, they would now be considered holders of the George Cross.
