Sir,
In answer to Mr. Jones’s letter concerning the proposed Brynhir development, can I advise him that it is not a case of not in my backyard, but not in the backyard of hundreds of people, not just local residents who signed the online petition opposing any development of the Brynhir fields.
I don’t know if Mr. Jones has ever walked around the field, but if he has, he will know it probably has some of the best views across Tenby towards Caldey and is enjoyed by walkers and dog walkers all year round, locals and visitors alike.
It is one of the highest points in South Pembrokeshire and is visible from all around. To build such a large housing estate on such a prominent and beautiful site would be wrong.
As regards Upper Hill Park, Mr. Jones may notice that all the homes on the highest level are one-storey bungalows and have less of an impact. A good planning decision at the time?
Planning mistakes have been made in the past. Would we be happy to see Croft Court built today? But let’s not repeat them and regret them in the future and lose an irreplaceable beautiful part of Tenby.
