The members of the Pembrokeshire Fundraising Group of Guide Dogs Cymru wish to express sincere thanks to Ian Wilkinson , of the Temple Bar Inn, Amroth, for the excellent sum of £622.82 raised at the weekly bingo and quiz evenings during the month of November.
Sincere thanks is also expressed to everyone who supports these events helping to raise funds for various charities throughout the year, November being Guide Dogs’ month.
Accepting the donation was Branch Organiser, Eva Rich, who was accompanied by Nancy who is in training hoping to become Eva’s seventh guide dog.
Also pictured are Angharad Hartnell and Sarah Fullstone, who are Guide Dog Mobility Instructors and having trained Nancy are helping her to settle into her new surroundings, Saundersfoot being quite different to Cardiff.
Ian Wilkinson and quiz mistress this week Marian Lewis, are also seen.
Eva’s sixth guide dog, Oyster, who retired on November 9, sadly became very poorly and had to be put to sleep on November 25.
Oyster had been a wonderful guide dog to Eva for the past nine years, and was well known in the locality and will be greatly missed by many.
It is hoped that Eva and Nancy will soon be seen around Saundersfoot.
Thanks is also expressed to the folk who supported an event at the Regency Hall last Thursday to thank people who sponsor puppies, when as well as Nancy, Tarka and Henry were there with their owners Veronica Prescott-Owen and Sue Canham, together with Sue’s retired guide dog Anjelo.
Jacqui Hughes-Jones, Fundraising Coordinator, was also in attendance at both events, and took the photograph at the Temple Bar Inn.
Members of the Pembrokeshire Branch would like to extend sincere thanks and best wishes for a happy Christmas and peaceful and healthy new year to all the generous folk who have supported fundraising throughout 2019.
