A bucket-load of money has been raised for the charity WaterAid, thanks to a four-mile walk by a nine-year-old girl.
Betsy Harding Hole, of Narberth, covered the distance carrying a yellow bucket containing four litres of water on her head.
Her aim was to raise awareness for the charity and the plight of children as young as two-years-old in poor international communities, who have to collect water daily.
And she more than doubled her fundraising target figure, collecting a total of £525 in JustGiving donations and cash.
Narberth CP School pupil Betsy started and finished her walk at Narberth Food Festival on Sunday, September 22.
It took around an hour and 20 minutes to complete the distance.
“We had quite a gang walking with her, including both her grandmothers and some family friends young and old,” said her mum, Donna.
“The walk was made up of half-mile blocks around Narberth. Every half mile, we stopped for a drink and some chocolate to keep energy levels up. It went really well.”
Betsy has been interviewed by BBC Radio Wales and Water Aid will be showcasing her as a Star Supporter.
It’s not too late to sponsor Betsy, which can be done via www.justgiving.com/fundraising/donna-harding4
