A Pembrokeshire family whose businesses specialise in providing transport for weddings and special occasion trips around the locality, have delivered a ‘top class’ children’s book to raise funds for the NHS.

Darren and Gemma Mason of Llawhaden, near Narberth who run ‘Narberth Travel’ and ‘Top Class Cars’ and their daughters Phoebe and Ezmee came up with the idea for the illustrated book Benny The Bus during the lockdown.

“As a family we wanted to document the effect of lockdown so together created a children’s story book that is personal to us and our business,” explained Gemma who wrote the story.

With an English and Welsh version of the story (featured within the one book) the publication has been beautifully illustrated by Phoebe and Ezmee (pictured).

“Both enjoy art and took their time in producing each page of the book,” continued Gemma.

“Now the book has been published, Phoebe and Ezmee are donating a contribution to the NHS for the sale of each book.”

A synopsis of the story reads as follows...

‘Benny the Bus is a school bus who noticed one day in March 2020 that all the other coaches in the fleet were very sad.

‘It was unusual for his friends Dennis the Distance Bus, Cecil the Coach, Annie the Airport Bus and the rest of the gang to be parked up at the depot. What was going on?

‘As Benny drops his school children off that afternoon he prays for their safety and hopes to be back on the Pembrokeshire roads soon. But happens to Benny and how does he feel?

‘When will life return to normal for the coach industry?’
