There’s an even greater incentive to take part in the Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim because the event is set to feature in the BBC’s Natural History Unit’s new landmark series ‘A Wild Year’.

The three part series for BBC-2 which will bring a unique insight into the nature of three iconic parts of the British countryside.

In the episode on Pembrokeshire, the programme will explore the essential relationship between the landscape, the wildlife and the way of life of the human inhabitants along Pembrokeshire’s stunning coastline.

Over the course of a year the series will hope to show some of the key milestones, some welcome, some more deeply challenging, that create a driving rhythm of life here, felt by the land, it people and its wildlife.
