Two Tenby based brothers have come up trumps at the The Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards 2018.
‘Big Mel’s Barbershop’ in Carmarthen, owned by Joe Sarrionandia, was the overall winner of the ‘Barbers of the Year’ award at the ceremony held at the Cardiff Stadium on Sunday.
Joe and his brother Sam who works with him at the shop which was established 20 years ago by their father Mel, are both former pupils at Tenby’s Greenhill School.
They and colleague Oli Evans, all attended the fifth Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards which this year welcomed over 600 guests, and was hosted by the city’s radio presenter, Polly James who gave away 31 amazing awards to the deserving winners.
These awards provided a platform to thank those in the hair and beauty industry, letting them know that their good work doesn’t go un-noticed.
Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic, said: “We are very delighted to have such great finalists and winners this year, representing the Welsh hair and beauty industry.
“These awards have grown unbelievably, and we would like to thank the Welsh public for showing us their willingness to be part of this amazing celebration.
“The hair and beauty industry plays a vital role in the Welsh economy and we are very honoured to see that our attempt to acknowledge and reward the meritorious professionals in the industry has been successful.
“It has been a truly memorable night and congratulations to all finalists and winners!” he added.
