Pembrokeshire designer Sian O’Doherty recently held an extremely successful open studio event at her farm near Kilgetty.
Sian invited fifteen renowned Welsh artists to celebrate their talents and showcase their work.
The alpacas, who provide the inspiration and raw material for much of Sian’s work were also very accommodating.
Visitors enjoyed meeting the alpaca sessions, including the newest addition to the herd one-week old Cara.
Thankfully the weather was fine and the visitors and customers were able to relax with delicious food provided by Paternoster Farm and a refreshing beverage from Event Bars.
Sian said: “The support from local people and the excitement generated by the event was overwhelming!
“The artists were really happy with the amount of new customers and contacts that they were able to make and the feedback from both exhibitors and customers was fantastic.
“I would like to thank everybody who ventured out to see the alpacas, for the respect that they showed them, particularly the mothers and babies and I hope to see you all soon.”
Penny Williams who attended the event commented: “Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and thought the quality of the crafts was wonderful.
“I came home with a gorgeous stained glass boat, a stunning pair of earrings and a quirky wicker daisy. A great afternoon!”
Sian is already making plans for the winter Open Studio event, which this year will be held slightly earlier on November 16 and 17.
There will be a mixture of familiar and new exhibitors at this event, so be sure to watch this space!
