Sir, On behalf of the trustees of the Museum I write to thank the Friends of Tenby Museum and Art Gallery and other volunteers who organised such a great celebration of the anniversary of the Museum’s opening at the Bandstand on Sunday afternoon.
The sun shone, the (generously donated) strawberries were sweet, feet were tapping to the wonderful jazz music and many local people and visitors enjoyed a delightful afternoon. For 140 years Tenby Museum and Art Gallery has been a focus in the town and collected and displayed many of the important materials that make Tenby the great place it is today, as well as having innovative and changing exhibitions and art shows.
Thanks too to all who came along bought prosecco and strawberries and donated generously. Contributions such as this will help to ensure that the Friends can go on giving their excellent support and the Museum continues to thrive. The Museum is committed to being part of the community and welcomes everyone who visits or wants to get involved in the many aspects of the museum by volunteering.
I also want to take the opportunity to thank our excellent team of volunteers who have served the museum for many years carrying out activities and research essential to our work. Without their continuing commitment we could not offer all that we do or be such a welcoming place for Tenby’s locals and large number of visitors.
You know where we are – come join us! Once again, many thanks to all who organised and who attended and we look forward to ever more years of serving the community here in Tenby.
Clr. Michael Williams, Chair of Trustees of Tenby Museum and Art Gallery
