Sir,

Re. road safety at Nash on the A477 at its junction with Pembroke A4075.

Will we have another accident, or collision as the the term is these days, at this particular junction? My answer is ‘yes, yes, yes, it will be an injury or fatality scene’.

And why? Because the road design and junction is dangerous in itself.

I even wonder who has the right of way here, whether you’re turning right towards Carmarthen or right towards Pembroke from Pembroke Dock. I tend to think of a large articulated vehicle with its long trailer turning right towards Carmarthen with its trailer half blocking the A477 westbound. It could be a catastrophe.

Clr. Wyn Jenkins of Pembroke has already stressed this in council meetings, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

There is no doubt in my mind (and also in relation to the Waterloo/Silcox junction) that there should have been roundabouts at these junctions, if not traffic lights.

I urge Pembs County Council to press the Welsh Assemby to make a roundabout at Nash and reduce the risk of another fatal accident at this junction. Many, many people who live near or use this road fully support my and Clr. Jenkins’s views and road safety observations.

Pembroke,

Retired Police

Traffic Officer.
