Before the March meeting of Amroth Community Council, Mr. Paul Harries, the new headteacher from Stepaside School, met with council and gave an update on activities in the school. He hoped the school and community would continue to work closely together. Information was regularly updated on the school website http://www.stepasideschool.co.uk">www.stepasideschool.co.uk and Mr. Harries was happy to email information to the council via the clerk and vice versa.

Outstanding issues to be addressed

Road sinking on Amroth Hill by the 30 mph signs - ongoing; bench repair - ongoing; car left outside old Stepaside Inn (old A477 and Birds Lane road) - resolved; footpath SP1/26, just below Summerhill Park - broken step now fixed, SP1/12, north of Mill Hill cottages, Stepaside - stile missing and handrail broken - ongoing; danger cliff/rock falling sign needs to be more prominent, one at top of slip and one that can be seen from beach - ongoing; speed signs at Llanteg - clerk had emailed Edwina Hart's office who were conducting the review - should hear back early April, no further news.

County Councillor Brinsden's report

Complaints had been received from local businesses in Amroth about road closures during the Long Course and Ironman weekends. Clr. Brinsden had discussed the matter with the county council who were offering to erect 'business as usual signs' with diversions to direct people to Amroth during these weekends. Clr. Brinsden would continue to try and get something done for the businesses.

Llanteg Community Hall and Association

April 11 - guided walk taking place from Stackpole Quay, meet 1 pm, also July 26 - summer charity fun day looks like going to be a great event with demonstrations, games, bouncy castles etc.

Amroth and District Community Association

Entertainment evening on Saturday, May 9, 7 pm, 'Songs from the Shows' with local artistes and singer Peter Karrie, tickets £10, Amroth Parish Hall (proceeds to share with both Amroth Parish Hall and Llanteg Village Hall).

Planning

Villa, St. Helens, Wiseman's Bridge - certificate of lawfulness for stationing of a caravan for a period in excess of 30 years for seasonal holiday use/occupation, June 1 - September 30; The Leys, Amroth - creation of indoor/outdoor patio area on NE end of the building (part retrospective) (approved); land east of Folly Cottage, Llanteg - two polytunnels and wooden shed (approved); Rock Cottage, Amroth - alterations to fenestration of principle elevation, front balcony, two storey rear extension (no objection); The Retreat, Stepaside - alterations and extension to existing dwelling (no objection); Colby Woodland Garden - proposed alterations and extensions to car parks with associated groundworks (no objection).

Correspondence

Clr. Jenkinson had submitted her resignation as a community councillor due to a move out of the area. Clerk to place an advertisement for a new councillor in the Tenby Observer.

Proposed car parking order - closer partnership working PCC and PCNPA and more consistence approach across the county. Brooklands Place, Amroth - no limit, no charge, open all hours each day.

Matters

Section of road between Pen y Bryn and The Mill, Pleasant Valley - the road had come away at the edge of the tarmac creating a dangerous drop. Also road collapsing on one side South of Finlandia, Trelessy Road, Llanteg. Clerk to contact Hugh Marriot at PCC.
