Shoppers in Kilgetty enjoyed a taste of summer last Friday, as staff at The Co-operative food store in Kilgetty hosted their first ever Strawberry Tea event in aid of Seeds of Hope.

Scones, jam, cream and strawberries were the order of the day as customers were treated to seasonal favourites, marking the halfway point of a charity partnership between The Co-operative, Oxfam Cymru and Dolen Cymru.

Chris Perkins, store manager, said: "We may not have had much of a summer so far, but that's no reason not to enjoy the best of the season's produce with a Strawberry Tea fundraising event."

All Co-operative food stores in Wales have been challenged to raise money for Seeds of Hope, a partnership between Oxfam Cymru and Dolen Cymru brokered by The Co-operative to support growing and sustainability projects at home and abroad during the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives.
