Sir,
I fear the public are being kept in the dark concerning the plans for the Brynhir. With yet another meeting being cancelled, it’s all becoming a bit of a farce.
What we need is transparency. Would the council be pushing so hard for this development if the land didn’t belong to them? The planning system is there to meet the community’s needs, not to be self-serving.
If Brynhir is bought by a developer, the sole interest of that developer would be to make maximum profits, and with the site’s stunning views and close proximity to town, it will be the high end executive housing and not affordable homes for locals that will make them the most money.
I can see this much-loved beauty spot being bulldozed so that the LDP can tick its outdated planning boxes and to help the council balance the books after the huge overspend on the leisure centre and school. How is that serving our community?
