A Saundersfoot woman has been handed a 12-month suspended jail sentence after admitting charges of producing and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

Thirty-nine-year-old Carri Susan Evans, of North Close, pleaded guilty to producing and possessing 20 cannabis plants and 36 grammes of cannabis buds, with intent to supply, when she appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court last week.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that police officers entered the defendant’s property in Saundersfoot during the early hours of February 20, and discovered various tents used to grow plants inside.

Miss Evans’s mobile phoned was also seized and found to contain various text messages offering to sell quantities of cannabis.

Following a probation report, magistrates gave the defendant a 12-month prison term for the two offences, suspended for a year.

Miss Evans was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £140 victim surcharge.
