A 77-year-old woman from the Pembroke area, will appear at Swansea Crown Court next month after being charged with causing death by careless driving.
Mrs. Sally Eleanor Denman, of Angle Village, entered no pleas when she appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to respond to an allegation of causing the death of Betty Colley, by driving her Volkswagen Polo on an unclassified road in Maidenwells, without due care and attention, on August 13, of last year.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that this was a ‘very, very sad case’ as the deceased and the defendant were friends.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case and transferred it to Swansea Crown Court where Mrs. Denman, who was released on unconditional bail, will now appear for a preliminary hearing on April 25.
