Police have stated that there were no suspicious circumstance surrounding the death of a man in Saundersfoot on New Year’e Eve.

An investigation was launched on December 31, after police were called to an alleyway off Brewery Terrace at around 6 pm, where sadly a man was pronounced deceased by the ambulance service.

Officers attended, and a police presence remained at the location throughout the night and into New Year’s Day to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which initially was being treated as ‘unexplained’.

“Our enquiries into the death of a 42-year-old man in Saundersfoot have progressed overnight and throughout today; and following a post mortem examination, we have determined that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death. We are now working with the coroner,” said a spokespersonfor Dyfed-Powys Police.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

“We would like to thank the people who contacted us with information following last night’s appeal, as well as those who stopped to help the deceased at the scene,” they added.
