A Milford man accused of damaging a wall and mobile phone belonging to his wife has been remanded on bail after pleading guilty to the charge in court.

Twenty-eight-year-old Nathan Daines, of Woodbine Way, Hakin, appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, to admit a charge of damaging a wall at a premises at Picton Road and also a mobile phone belonging to Rebecca Daines.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that the incident occurred on October 2 when Mr. Daines went out to play poker with friends and came home at 5 am.

“He got into an argument with his wife when he came back and was intoxicated. In a temper, he ripped the door at the house off its hinges and made holes in the wall.

“She called the police as she was concerned about her husband’s behaviour and he was arrested. The defendant said that he punched the wall first of all,” explained Mr. Pritchard-Jones.

Magistrates heard how Mr. Daines was in breach of a 12-month conditional discharge imposed in April, for an offence of common assault, and that the case should be transferred to the domestic violence court for a hearing.

The matter was adjourned for a pre-sentence report and Mr. Daines was told that he would have to return to court for a hearing on October 26.

He was released on conditional bail, and told not to contact directly or indirectly Rebecca Daines; not to attend her address at Picton Road; and that he must live and sleep at Woodbine Way.
