A Milford Haven man was back in court again this week after pleading guilty to criminal damage.

Thirty-year-old, Martin Dean of Trafalgar Road appeared via video link at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday after admitting to cause £56.44 worth of damage at St Caradogs Ward in Haverfordwest.

When asked to confirm his address to the court room the defendant started using foul language and stated he didn’t want to lie to the court about his address.

He then proceeded to walk out of the hearing, but returned a short time later.

Magistrates opted not to invoke contempt of court proceedings.

Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told the court that on Christmas Eve, the defendant felt unhappy about the way he was being treated, before his mother arrived with some presents.

However, Ms. Vaughan was unable to proceed with reading the full facts of the case, as the defendant took to ranting about his mother and the presents as the prosecutor attempted to tell magistrates the details.

Defence solicitor Jonathon Webb told the court that his client was not well and was facing proceedings in Swansea Crown Court for a separate matter.

He said that Mr. Dean’s case in the crown court was adjourned as he was awaiting a psychiatric report.

The defendant was previously in court on February 18 after he caused £49 worth of damage following an argument on the phone with his mother on December 13 of last year.

After the defendant walked out of the hearing again, Magistrates sentenced Mr. Dean in his absence to seven days in jail.

He was also ordered to pay £122 as a victim surcharge and compensation for the damaged caused.
