Local firefighters will be selling copies of their centenary book celebrating 100 years of the Tenby Carnival outside the town’s Sainsbury’s store on Saturday.

The book that was launched by local firefighter Lee Simmons in the summer to coincide with the carnival centenary celebrations looks back at the history of one of Tenby’s most popular events.

Tenby’s fire crew raised an amazing £11,000 for the Firefighters Charity from fundraising events held throughout the year, with the grand total also including receipts from the special Centenary Book.

Community fire safety officer Lee played a huge role in putting the publication together, after an idea sparked during the 2016 carnival, and he began researching the archives for photos and information about the resort’s longstanding carnival traditions.

The sale of the book will be held outside Sainsbury’s at 10 am, where the book can be purchased for £6.95, with all proceeds going towards the Firefighters charity.

The book is also currently available to purchase at Tenby Bookshop in Tudor Square.
